Thank goodness it’s…

About the Event

Building on a rich history of agricultural production and community nourishment by New Orleanians, Sprout’s work is to resource the talented growers who are already in our midst. We are doing that by:

  • providing funding for urban farm infrastructure,

  • expanding our tool-lending library for farmers,

  • bringing growers together to network, organize, and share,

  • assisting growers with technical training, resources, and land access,

  • advocating for an Urban Agriculture Liaison position in the City of New Orleans to (we won!), and

  • building the Sprout Community Farm on the Lafitte Greenway, which will more than triple our growing area and greatly increase our educational programming reach.

In the 2025 Lenten season, we’re aiming to raise $30,000 to support our urban agriculture programs for growers of all scales–from the new community gardener to the experienced farmer who is ready to purchase their own urban lot.

So we’re throwing a party, both to toast how far we’ve come with Urban AGriculture, and to increase the amount of our fundraising that comes directly from our community.

On Friday, March 28th, 5:30-8:30pm, Sprout will host a Friday Fish Fry Fête to celebrate Sprout’s community of local food growers & fishers. Because good food is at the heart of our work, this event will feature the best Louisiana-grown fish, vegetables, and delicious side dishes. The event will also showcase live music, garden-to-glass cocktails, a plant raffle, and other surprises in a joyful, garden atmosphere. We hope you’ll join us for a TGIFFFF to remember!
