The Truck-Farm Table

SPROUT is always looking for ways to make it easier for people to grow and sell food in local economies. The Truck-Farm Table is one of those initiatives; we sell other growers’ food at markets, without charging any fees or taking a cut of the profits. This allows farmers to spend more time in the fields or managing other aspects of their business as they grow towards having their own market table. Oftentimes, a beginning farmer will not have the capacity to spend hours running a booth at a market, and be unable to afford to hire somebody. The Truck-Farm Table breaks down that barrier, making selling at market a feasible option for small and beginning growers. Our hope is that growers who use the service and find success in their business will eventually “graduate” from the table. Several of our past suppliers now have their own stands at the farmer’s market!

As with all of our programs, we use the Truck Farm Table to shift power and resources to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Women, and Veteran owned farm operations.

In the past, we have sold fruit and veggies, flowers, and some homemade locally-sourced goods. For more information about selling your goods at the Truck-Farm Table, please email Erica at markets@sproutnola.org.
